Lucky me!! I recently received Craftadian’s quarterly Artisan Box, which I won through an Instagram competition. Craftadian ships a new box every three months (February, May, August, and November). Each box contains 4-6 handmade, Canadian products and has a retail value of $50-$60.
The box that I received included:
-A Soy Candle by Ellingwood Soap Co. (value $14.00)
-A Mini Bath Bomb by Holly Berry Body (value $3.50)
-Canadian Theme Enamel Pin by Carolyn Draws (value $12.00)
-Lollipop by Sweet and Simple Co (value $1.00)
-Illustration Magnet by Sean Greenberg Illustration (value $3.00)
-Hamilton Key Chain by Dream Willow Studio (value $8.00)
-Silver Chainmaille Earrings by Krysta Marie Designs (value $8.95)
-Greetings from Canada Card (value $4.00)
-2 Complimentary Tickets to Made in Hamilton (value $6.00)
A total value of $60.45
A quarterly subscription costs $34.99+$9.99 (shipping) for each box ($44.98 all together)
So when you do the math that’s a 15 dollar savings! It’s not an amazing deal when it comes to savings, but as most subscription boxes go, their aim is not to provide a deal. It is, however, a great way to try items that you are likely to enjoy and would otherwise probably never try. From this one box alone, I found a few products that I could not believe I had been living without!
I found the box to be full of goodies which for me was important because if the box felt empty that would totally suck. This presentation was perfect, rustic and packaged with care which is so fitting for a box with locally made items. I loved the personalization of the item list card too! It made it feel like a gift sent directly to me!
Now for my new favourite items, number one on my list is the amazing set of earrings I received from Krystal Marie Designs! I have really, really, really sensitive ears and these earrings did not upset them!! They are the cutest silver, dangly earrings! I get so many compliments on them I love it! I would absolutely buy from her! And the value! Only $8.95! Check out her website above.
My second favourite item is the soy candle by Ellingwood Soap Co. I got the lemongrass scent, and I love it. They are so light but still effective, they just blend into the air so well. Above all no headaches! These days candles can be so strong they kill me, instant headache. This company uses 100% soy and essential oils and are hand poured! You can feel the love put into each candle and I love that. I have purchased another one since, at the Made in Hamilton Craft Fair, I got the sage and lavender scent and I am obsessed! Check out their website above.
All in all, I really enjoyed this subscription box and I have honestly haven’t been able to try everything out yet! But as always I will let you know what I think! I love that subscription boxes come monthly or quarterly because it gives you something to look forward to or in my case, you forget about it and it makes for a lovely surprise! Also if you do attend craft shows and other local events you can actually meet the people who not only own but make these items, which you simply just don’t get with mass-produced items. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to support local, handmade goods, is looking for a unique gift, or for anyone who may need a pick me up!
